FUN AT THE PARK!!!

This afternoon we went to the park to play!

One of Kyle's favorite things to do at the park thees days is to climb up the slide. He says he is climbing the mountain!

Kenzie climbs up the jungle gym now too!

She made it all the way to the top without any help at all!!!

Kyle is such a sweet boy! All of a sudden he stopped playing for a minute, walked over to where I was standing, and gave me a kiss!

This is Aaron's friend Steve from our ward. Kyle had lots of fun playing with his new friend!!! He had Kyle laughing hysterically!!!

They also had lots of fun when Kyle decided that he wanted to push Kenzie in the swing. Unfortunately for him he kept getting too close to the swing and getting knocked down. He's a tough guy though, and he kept getting right back up!

Then Daddy helped Kyle climb on the ladder between the rock walls. Kyle was a little scared, but he was a brave boy!

Meanwhile, Kenzie tried to climb up a slide.

Apparently Kyle has gotten braver than we thought because the next thing we knew, he was climbing the ladder all by himself!

Then to our disbelief, and horror, he jumped off of the very top!

Once he landed on the ground, he sat there for a second and then remembered, "Oh yeah, I am supposed to cry now" So thats what he did.

We checked him over, and he seamed to be just fine, and we knew that he was when he ran right back off to go start playing again.

Unfortunately, Steve's wife wasn't feeling well, so she wasn't able to come to the park with us. So, while the guys hung around and mostly talked about video games, I took the kids over to play with the little rocking toys.

We had lots of fun at the park, and the kids DID NOT want to leave, but it was getting cold, and he hadn't eaten dinner yet, so he had to go. We will go back again very soon though!!!

Who cooks dinner? Usually me, butt let me tell you AARON CAN COOK!!!

Who drives? Aaron does because I am visually impaired, and can't drive.

Who kissed who first? Aaron did. I am so shy that if it had been left up to me then we would still be waiting for our first kiss!

HOW WE SPENT OUR VALENTINES DAY!

We had a fun Valentines Day!

Here are some pictures of the kids that I took while they were looking at their Valentines presents.

Kyle got a stuffed dog with a heart in it's mouth, and a chocolate frog with a gummy bug inside, and Mackenzie got a red teddy bear, and a chocolate apple with a gummy worm inside. They loved them!

After Kyle finished his candy this is the conversation that we had (more than once)

Kyle: Mom can I have some more presents?

Me: I'm sorry Kyle but thats all the presents for today.

Kyle: Oh Come on Mom!

A little while later, Aaron came home from work and he had a teddy bear, a big chocolate heart, and two chocolate roses for me! It was so sweet.

My mom and sister then came to pick me us so that I could go and get a gift for Aaron. They came to out door with a small bag of cheeto's and Veggietales fruit snacks for each of the kids! They loved them! They also brought a box of Whoppers for Aaron and I to share!

We then headed off to CVS Pharmacy where I picked out a stuffed animal and a heart shaped box of chocolates for my sweet husband!

I do have to admit one thing though. For the past several months I have been doing really well as far as not eating too many sweets goes. Well today I ruined all of that. I have had A TON OF SUGAR (mainly chocolate) and I still want more! It will all be okay again soon enough though. I am allowed one day to splurge right?

HAIR CUTS

We went over to my mom's house yesterday so that she could cut Aaron, Kyle, and Mackenzie's hair. Kyle, who used to throw quite a fit when getting a haircut, was a VERY GOOD BOY!!! He sat very still for Grandma, and giggled a lot when the clippers tickled him. It was so cute!

Mackenzie only needed her bangs trimmed, but she wasen't exactly thrilled about the whole thing. So atleast for now her bangs are out of her eyes. My mom will probably have to touch it a little another day.

♥Where was your first date? First we went to Fudruckers, and then we went to see Ella Enchanted at Harkins. We then went to a park by my house and sat and talked for HOURS!!!

WOW!

"DADDY?"

Back when Aaron was going to school, he was gone for 20 hours a day, and came home and slept for the other 4. We handled it alright, but unfortunately, it happened durring the time when Kenzie was just starting to recognize people, and as a result, she didn't really know who he was for a while. However, once Aaron got finished with school, and worked regular hours, she became a daddy's girl.

Then, when Aaron lost his job at the end of October, he was suddenly home almost 24 hours a day searching for jobs through the Internet. He had to search for jobs that way since everywhere that he went in person told him to go home and apply online. As a result, the kids really got used to having Daddy home ALL THE TIME!

Yesterday, Aaron went back to work. Now the kids are readjusting again. Kyle just got really rowdy, and clung to me a lot. Kenzie on the other hand, while she got very rowdy too, she also wandered around the house all day calling out "Daddy? Daddy?" It was so cute! It was the cutest thing! And I think that she thought that he was hiding in our pantry because that is where I had to go and get her from most of the time. They will get used to Daddy going to work again, it will just take a little time. :)

BACK TO WORK....... FIANALLY!!!!!!!!

After more than a month of job hunting, Aaron started his first day of his new job today!!! We are so excited because this means that we can start to get our lives back to normal! Again, I just want to say THANK YOU to all of you who have helped us out!We truely appreciate it, and we love you all!

OUR EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENT!!!!!

Aaron had another appointment at the occupational health center this past Tuesday morning. Everything went well, and he was told to come back Friday morning to get his test results.

So he went back this morning, and was home very quickly afterwards with some GREAT NEWS!!!

This coming Monday afternoon, he is suposed to get his hospital ID, and all that fun stuff! HE WILL THEN START WORK ON TUESDAY MORNING!!!!!!!! Our prayers have been answered! And we are so excited that our life can start to get back to normal!!!!!!

THE LATEST INSTALMENT IN THE JOB HUNT

Yesterday, Aaron woke up early, and got ready to go. He then ate breakfast, and hurried out the door to head his trial run.

Meanwhile, I put dinner in the crock pot, did the dishes, laundry, played with the kids, posted some Thanksgiving recipes on my blog, etc. pretty much anything to make the day go by faster.

About an hour or so after Aaron left for the day, I got a phone call. I didn't get to the phone in time, so the answering machine ended up getting it. I turned out to be the lady who was in charge of his hiring process for the hospital that has already hired him. She said that she had done some checking, and she had found out that they will accept a doctor's note for Aaron's blood treasure!!! I first thought "are you kidding me? First there were no jobs, and now there are too many!"

My day went on, and some time around 3 pm, I got a call from Aaron. He I could tell immediately that he sounded disappointed. I asked him how his day had gone, and he told me that it had gone very well. He knew everything that they had expected him to know. However, they want him to get a little faster before they can hire him. They told him that they want him to get 2 months more of experience in and then come back and they would have a job for him!

Now here is my opinion on this matter:
Aaron has NEVER been a phlebotonist in a hospital setting before. He worked in a low level clinical lab where he maybe did 20 patients a day. He went from that to doing somewhere around 80 patients, with brand new procedures. He only missed ONE draw our of ALL of those! (it is normal to occasionally miss a draw) The only thing that they said that he was too slow on was picking up their procedures. Aaron also tole me that he felt like he was starting to get the hang of how they did things around there. He felt like if he had been given a couple more hours, he would have had it down. The lady had originally told him that she would give him a couple of days to see how he picked it up. She only ended up giving him 6 hours! To me that is NOT FAIR!

So anyway, I told him about the phone call, and, and he told me that as soon as he got home, he would get started on getting that doctor's note.

When he got home, he called the occupational health center, and confirmed that they would accept a note from his doctor. They also told him that if he could get it, they would be open until 7:30 pm, and if he could get it by then, they would accept him as a walk in without an appointment!

So, Aaron called his doctor and left a message, but it was so late in the day that they did not get back to him. So, plans to go down to the doctor's office first thing Monday morning and see if he can get a note.

The guy who is helping him find a job is also trying to get him a part time position an another hospital. I feel very confident that he will have a job soon, I am just not quite sure where that job will be.

HE PROBABLY HAS THE JOB!!!!!

Aaron came back from his interview while I was making the pictures for the last post.

I was a little worried when he got home so quickly, but he quickly explained that he had gotten there 20 minutes early, and they had taken right back to the interview. He then explained that He starts a trial run tomorrow, and if he likes it, and he can prove himself, then he has the job!!!!!!!!!

When he told me that, I just sat here with my mouth hanging open, and I almost started to cry! Now all that is left is for him to go in there, and show them that he knows what he is doing, and he has a permanent job!!!!!

I'M KEEPING MY FINGERS CROSSED!!!!

Late yesterday afternoon, Aaron got a call from the guy who is helping him look for work. He said that the lab manager ended up not having the time, but he stressed that She does want to meet with him! He then told Aaron that he would try to set something up for today.

So this morning, he called at 7:30 am, and told Aaron that he had just been contacted by the lab manager, and she would like to do an interview with him this morning! So since he would have to make it to the other side of the valley, in about an hour, in rushour traffic, he jumped in the shower, and I started getting his clothes ready for him. His shirt was super wrinkled, and I did not have time to iron it, and the kids have taken our spray water bottle apart, so I couldn't even fix it that way. So I got on the phone, and made some calls. I ended up sending Aaron over to my mom's house and she sprayed his shirt for him before he made his way to the interview!
I know that it probably sounds weird to some of you, but that is actually the way that dry cleaners got the wrinkles out of clothes, and it really works!!!

It is 8:40 am right now, and Aaron's interview is supposed to start at 9:am. His last words to me as he went out the door were "Please Pray for me!" I ofcorse promised to do so, and I was wondering if all of you could please do the same!

THINGS ARE STARTING TO LOOK A LITTLE BRIGHTER!

Do you remember that full time position that I told you about yesterday? The one where they really wanted someone with hospital experience, but were thinking about giving Aaron an interview anyway?

THEY HAVE DECIDED TO GIVE HIM AN INTERVIEW!!!

The guy from the employment called Aaron just as we were walking out the door to go to Bass PRO! He told Aaron that He had talked to the lab manager, and that she definitely does want ti interview him! The only thing is that she doesn't know if her schedule will allow for it to take place today or not, but she is definitely interested in hiring him!!! So, the guy told Aaron to keep his schedule open from 2 pm to 6 pm tonight, and he will get in touch with him as soon as he hears anything!

We haven't heard anything more yet, but we are keeping our fingers crossed that it will happen today!

THIS IS ALL JUST ONE BIG ROLLER COASTER RIDE

Yesterday morning, Aaron called his doctor, and made an appointment to follow up after his appointment about a month ago. They scheduled him for 2:00 pm. that same day. So I immediately tried to figure out who could watch our kids so that I could be there with him. Here's how it went in my head:
Mom will be at work, Kyler is at school until 3, Kimber told me last night that she has to work all day today, Grandma...... yeah, Grandma can do it!

So, I called my grandma G. and she was very apprehensive because my grandpa was out of town, and lets just face it, my kids are a HAND FULL But she agreed to watch them. I then called my mom at work, and she told me that both my brother and his wife had the day off that day, and that one of them could probably go help her. Luckily my sister in law Alicia was able to go and help for a little while before her job interview, and I am so grateful for them both!!! THANK YOU!

Once at the doctor, they took his blood pressure with several different cuffs. It just hadn't gone down! We then explained our situation to them, and we told them about what the guy from our ward had told us. They immediately started looking into things that they could do to try to figure it out. They did an EKG which ended up costing us $75.00, and they got on the phone with several different places.

After a few minutes of waiting, the medical assistant came back into the room. She said that she had some news that we probably didn't want to hear.

The blood test that Aaron has to have done is a very rare test and it is very expensive! They are also trying to find a place that will do a certain kind of ultrasound. They called one place, but they quickly informed them that they no longer do that kind of ultrasound.

So they gave Aaron another sample of medications, just to see if they will help at all, and they are finding trying to get everything set up so that he can get the rest of his testing done. As we were leaving, we told them that we don't care what it takes, we just want to get to the bottom of this!


Then today, Aaron received a phone call from a guy from one of the medical staffing agencies that is trying to help him find a job. He told Aaron that there is a hospital position, but they want someone with hospital experience. However, since he is certified, and he has had very stressful jobs in the past, and has proven that he can work under pressure. So, they might be willing to override the whole hospital experience thing!

Then a few hours later, the same guy called back again! This time he told Aaron that 2 part time positions had just opened up at another hospital! Unfortunately, the agency is only allowed to put him in for one job at a time, so he told the guy that he would prefer the full time job. So, the guy told Aaron that he would keep him in for the first job, and if for some reason they didn't work out, he would be first in line for the other ones!

A couple of hours later, the lady who has already hired him for the hospital job a long time ago called to check on how his blood pressure is doing. Aaron told her what is going on, and then he asked her if it would help if his primary care doctor wrote a note stating that he us under a doctor's care, and his blood pressure is very closely watched. She then told him that she was going to talk to some people, and explain the situation. She would then try to get them to override the whole blood pressure issue, and let him take his physical to start work anyway! She didn't know if she would be successful, but she said that she would try!

So, today is looking much brighter than yesterday! Hopefully something will come through soon!

FUN WITH FAMILY

Yesterday afternoon we recieved a phone call from my dad! He told us that my Uncle Danny is down visiting from Missouri, and that everyone was getting together to eat pizza for dinner.

When we got to Grandpa & Grandma's house, we found out that they had just gotten a pet baby goat. The kids absolutely LOVED playing with the goat!

That poor goat was so scared! Kyle and Mackenzie LOVED him, and they kept chasing him all over the place!

My uncle Danny recently got a set of bagpipes. He has only been playing for 40 days, and he already knows a few songs, and he is really good!

Uncle Danny started to teach Aaron how to play! When they were done, he said that Aaron did very well for his first time!

We had a great time, and we wanted to stay longer! However, our kids were very tired! So we headed home. When we got home, the kids fell asleep very quickly!

HMMMMM...... THAT'S KIND OF INTERESTING!

Tonight we got a phone call from one of the members of our Elders Quarum Presidency. He told Aaron that since this coming Sunday is our Ward Conference, they are choosing a few famalies in the ward to visit, and they were wondering if they could come and visit us.

When they got to our house, they asked us how things were going for us. So we told them! And when we told them about how Aaron does have a job, but that his blood preasure is keeping him from being able to work, I noticed that one of them was very interested in the situation.

I soon learned that he is a doctor! (I never saw that coming!) He then talked with Aaron about what his doctor is doing , and about his medications. He then told us of something that we had vever been told before.

He told us that when people as young as Aaron have issues with high blood pressure, sometimes it because the Renal Artery is a little too narrow. He then said that when this happens it causes the Kidneys to think that the blood pressure is too low, so they raise the blood pressure to where they think it should be.

He said that the way to see if this is the case with Aaron is to see a specialist, or a cardiologist. And when I asked him if there is anything that can be done to correct the problem, he told me that there are a few things that they can do, but he didn't tell me what they were.

After we talked with them for a little while, they got up to leave. And on his way out the door, the same guy told Aaron that if he had any questions about what he can do to get his blood pressure down, that he would be happy to give him tips and advice. Hopefully this is an answer to our prayers to get Aaron's blood pressure down into a safe range!

THE JOB HUNT CONTINUES!

Yesterday, Aaron recieved a phone call (from the lady that prayed) telling him that they had decided that as long as he is honestly trying to bring his blood preasure down, the job at the hospital will be held for him! This is Amazing news!

So, this morning, we got up and walked. I told Aaron to set the pace and I would do my best to keep up. I would have been fine except for the fact that it was freezing outside, and it hurt to breathe so hard in the cold air. But I made It! After we finished walking down a few streets, we decided to head to my mom's house so that we could return her canopener. I also got a drink of water, to help with my extreamly dry throat!

When we saw my mom, she told us that she had just been watching the news, and they had just announced a medical job fair later on today! WHAT LUCK! Aaron then asked me if I would like to walk the kids to the P A R K. (we have to spell things out in front of Kyle, or he will know what we are talking about) Even though, I was very tired, I agreed because I know that the more walking Aaron does, the better chance he will have to get his blood preasure down. And also, our kids absolutely love the park!!!

After playing at the park for a little while, we walked back home, quickly ate breakfast, and then we headed to the store, picked up a couple of perscriptions, and a canopener, and hurried back home.

Aaron looked the event up online, and found out that they were offering same day interviews, and hires!

So. while he showered and shaved, I printed off as many coppies of his resume as I could. I ended up getting 48 printed before he had to leave.

He is now there at the job fair! I don't know if he will come back with a job today, but I do know that this event will atleast help him get his name out there! I really hope that this is the help that he neaded to get himself a job!

I WISH THE ECONOMY WAS BETTER!

Yesterday, was not such a great day for us!

Aaron went to work like he normally does, and a few hours into his shift I got a phone call from him.

Me- Hello?

Aaron- Hun, Are you sitting down?


Me- Yeah, why? (I could hear in his voice that something was wrong)

Aaron-I was just laid off, and after today I don't have a job

Me-Are you serious?

Aaron- yeah, in order for them to keep the company going they have to get rid of a lot of people, and I am one of them

They told Aaron that it had nothing to do with his work preformance! They also told him that when he is applying for other jobs they will give him a good review. It is only that they only have enough money to pay 2 employees per lab, and Aaron just happened to be one of the ones who had the least experience.

I don't know exactly what direction we are going to be led in, but I know that Heavenly Father will take care of us! I am also so greatful for our wonderful family ( on both sides) who have been so helpful and suportive through this very rough year that we have had!
